I’m a cannabis regulatory analyst, writer, and policy advocate who lives in Colorado. Currently I work for Simplifya, the leading and longest-running regulatory compliance software platform in the cannabis industry. Aside from my work in cannabis compliance, I am a relentless cannabis policy enthusiast– few things make me happier than talking about the challenges all of us face in building and developing a responsive, safe, and destigmatized industry. I have years of experience reading and monitoring cannabis regulations in dozens of states, and I love to demystify the reality of licensed cannabis for any audience.
Also, as a life-long sports fan and graduate of two Big Ten universities, I’m a firm believer that cannabis and sports were meant for each other. It sounds bold, but I believe that creating a path for permitting cannabis consumption at sporting events is a positive step for all society– safer for fans, safer for drivers and surrounding neighborhoods, and safer for stadiums and their employees. If you work for any professional sports league or any municipal government that hosts a professional sports complex, please reach out– it’s a long road ahead of us, but I’m happy to meet and talk about the hurdles we have to clear.
This site contains my blog, which is my personal space to share my occasional writing, as well as pieces and ideas from others that have expanded my perspective or changed my mind. There are professional posts related to cannabis policy, cannabis history, and cannabis culture, so sorry if the page gets blocked on any censor or filter. In my non-professional life, I’m interested in history, politics, religion, books, restorative justice, and international affairs, so that’s also going to be part of the focus.
Also, if you’re curious in setting up your own blog, here in the world of decaying social media– reach out to me! I’m by no means a tech expert, and I figured out how host my own site on a server, with a low-difficulty WordPress theme, for like $8/month. You can do this, seriously.
